The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council
are the main UK government agency for funding research
and training in engineering and the physical sciences. They
invest more than £800m a year into a broad range of projects
from mathematics to materials science and from information
technology to structural engineering. The annual reports and
strategic plans reflect the activities and future direction of
EPSRC across the many and varied fields they support, set
